Game rooms are generally areas within a house that are reserved for fun and play. Most of these rooms usually feature a common fixture such as a billiards table, card playing table, or arcade style video games. Many game rooms are used for these types of recreation activities and may also be sports themed viewing rooms. In fact, 80% of all homes that feature a game room, actually use the room to broadcast major sporting events during parties.
There are many things that should be considered when thinking about the décor and overall interior design of a game room. First and foremost it should be determined who will be using the game room. The game rooms target audience should be considered when making overall changes and additions to the décor. For example, if the game room was created for children who reside in the home, then the room will need to have a lighter and more playful feel than if the room is designed for a husband and his friends.
